“I chose this field for the opportunity to treat a variety of illnesses in all age groups from pediatrics to geriatrics. As an emergency room physician, I provided medical care and surgical intervention for acute trauma and acute and chronic illnesses. Today, I enjoy providing a wide variety of diagnostic and therapeutic services to my patients and focus on giving them excellent care with compassion for every patient every time. My goal is to improve every patient’s condition and overall health.”

In his free time, Dr. Powell enjoys travel and pursuing good nutrition.

“I chose to practice emergency medicine and urgent care medicine for the sheer pleasure of dealing with the immediate problems and the gratification of seeing an immediate outcome. I chose family medicine as a primary focus especially because of the long-term relationships I might develop as I assist the patient in maintaining optimal health.

“My approach to patient care is with compassion, respect and an intellectual pursuit of the best care possible. I treat people and their problems the way I would treat myself or a family member. I want my patients to sense that they have a provider who cares about their needs.”

In his free time, Dr. Hargett enjoys music (he is a bass and acoustic guitarist) and golf – although he doesn’t get to play as much as he’d like.
